Bubblegum Crisis Page 2: More Screencaps
I just love this shot of the city roofs. Everyone has some sort of solar power going on. One wonders if this is still in our future about that time.
The Genom Tower is omnipresent in the cityscapes. This shot shows some of the action effects.
Another interesting shot of the tower from inside a car.
The Genom research facility.
The AD Police HQ, with trouble obviously on the horizen.
A visuallyi interesting burn effect. This almost looks CG.
Priss is definitely a fan favorite.
Linna seems to get lost in the shuffle a bit.
Even though she’s overly bouncy, Nene is pretty fun.
Leon has a some decent fight scenes sprinkled throughout.
The AD Police also have a few interesting scenes, but are obviously in the background here other than Leon.
The Hardsuits in BGC work fairly well, in an objectified sort of way.
The arm and body attachments lead to all sorts of cool fight shots.
I really love some of the action shot effects.
The action shots are where the detail in BGC is at its highest. This shot is a good example of that.
We get some cool bad guys as well. Boomers disguised as humans are the common enemy.
Some of the boomers have some pretty mean teeth, not that this makes a lot of sense as they aren’t carnivorous meat eaters…
I love the detail surrounding the eye in this boomer.
One of the highlight moments for me in the series - this guy was pretty damn interesting.
All in all, a fun OVA.

One point in favor of the original BGC over 2040 is that Mega-Tokyo is MUCH dirtier in the original. 2040’s Mega-Tokyo is too squeaky-clean, almost sterile. The Boomers are nowhere as interesting as the original, either. But 2040 does have much deeper development of the leading ladies than the original, it is more intimate.
