I’ve been thinking about the layout and design of this website. Personally, I think the background is a little distracting to the main (middle) section of the site. It’s also a little chaotic looking and the stream of media (the boxes that you can click on to direct to another link) is slowing down readers who have an old computer/slow bandwidth. I can’t code or anything like that so all I can do is provide feedback in hopes of improving the website that we are now all apart of. What do you mean by “the background is a little distracting to the main (middle) section of the site.” You mean the picture behind representing Japanese buildings ? What do you propose? About the boxes that you can click on to direct to another link it is on purpose. Actually the site works on WordPress (Open source software for content management) and the “boxes” come from a specific theme (A way to “skin” your weblog). I reckon and you’re right it is quite slow if you have an old computer/mobile phone or if you have a slow bandwidth because there are plenty of images. But this is the choice I made. I wanted more visual context. Maybe we can accelerate the display but I have no clue about how to do that 🙂 On my mobile (Samsung Galaxy S4) I have no problem to display it and I reckon also that I’m living in a city who provides 4G.
