Martial Arts? Yes, they’re essential. Hence the samurai in “street samurai” But let us not forget about the street part. You could be a huge hulking MMA god, but if you haven’t got the street smarts, the awareness, you’re still going to get shot I’m afraid. And sadly, blackbelts don’t deflect bullets. But street smarts can prevent them from ever being fired. So I’m going to drop a few tips to get this section started.
    1) You’re walking down the street and someone strikes you as dangerous. Don’t look at them, keep them in your peripheral. But don’t alter your path to avoid them unless they’re looking at you and you think they mean harm.
    2) don’t do confrontations if you’re not in your own territory
    3) Don’t bust up in someone else’s crib and dis them. They will mess you up. Thats a gaurantee.
    4) during a confrontation, honor doesn’t exist. Do what you must. Live.
    5) don’t strut around packing obvious heat. I know, I wish I could walk around with a katana but those days have sadly passed.
    6) be polite. Civility works wonders even with the rattiest of vagabonds. That doesn’t mean you should act like some weirdo butler, just be polite.
    7) Know the lingo. People wont take you seriously if you can’t talk the talk. If that means you have to learn what a “thot” is, then so be it.
    8) Know your place. normally being a poser just gets you laughed at. On the street it can get you killed.
    9) Make sure you’ve got people who you can trust watching your back. Don’t go out at night alone whenever possible. Make sure you’ve got friends who know where you’re going so they can come get you if you don’t come back.
    10) Watch ya step kid.
