ReBoot movie trilogy now being written
Dot: Maybe we should read the rest of this blog. It might explain what’s going on.
Word coming down the wires from The Hollywood Reporter has news of scripts for a ReBoot movie trilogy currently being written by Jon Cooksey. Carolyn Giardina (Hollywood Reporter):
Jon Cooksey has been signed to write the script for the first feature based on “ReBoot,” one of the earliest computer-animated episodic TV series.
“ReBoot” is being redeveloped as a trilogy of feature-length films by Rainmaker Animation. Originally produced in 1994, the series was created by MainFrame Entertainment, which was acquired by and renamed Rainmaker in 2006.
The news comes as part of a relaunch that includes a comic series and a marketing campaign to “engage the fans.”
This has to come as good news for fans of the CG TV series; The prospect of three more ReBoot movies to add their collection of the series and three movies (Daemon Rising, My Two Bobs, and The Ride) is going to have fans looking to make more room. There’s already a page on IMDB waiting to be populated once the first movie is released.
The movies is currently scheduled to be released in 2010, so you’ll need to fill the time by checking out the ReBoot website and staying tuned for the latest from the project.

I’ve been a huge fan of ReBoot since its saturday morning cartoon days and I was a part of the process to select the winning pitch for the new comic. I think the new comic is _ok_ and I hope it brings in lots of interest for the new movies. Can’t wait!

reboot was totally awesome, especially in seasons 3 and 4. it got a lot darker and more mature, which was good, if only it was like a series on adult swim, where there could be more violence and mature themes, and a few swear words at the most heated times of an episode where you want to hear matrix cuss out the enemy. other then that, i love it, especially the female characters, they are hot, especially hex after she got turned into a sprite, talk about a big rack, woo!

The show was great for many reasons one been a someone like me who watch from the start back in the ABC Saturday morning cartoon days it kind of grew with you. It started out as a kids show is seasons 1 and 2 then got darker and more suited for teens in season 3 and 4. I can’t wait for the movies just hope the pick up where they left off none of this rewriting stuff. I admit it needs a bit of a revamp for the 90s version but new graphics and mature story lines not a whole new story. Maybe they could ever make some sort of spin off series of it, something to do the the Mainframes kids or something like that if the movies do well. It would give them a chance to to revamp the serious but keep true to the original. Just a thought…

Um….Ok, it’s been 2 years since this was posted. I hardly think it takes that long to write these new Reboot movies. It would appear to me that the company that purchased Reboot is clearly “Dicking around”. Either put up or shut up, ya know? There are 20,000 fans waiting for this. Yes those numbers are correct, check Reboot.com. What the hell is the problem. If they want to make money , they’ve got it when they make the damned movies. We want to buy them on dv freaking d. I can’t understand whats taking so long unless they are just laying around on their asses not doing anything. The fans (us) could get all 3 of these written, animiated, and released in less than 1 year of hard work. So whats the problem?

OBVIOUSLY they were jerkin our chains. there won’t be any movies on this. it was said to be released in 2010 and we’re rounding up to november now already.
anybody in toronto even caught wind of a trailer for reboot in theaters? nope.
thanks for getting 20, 000 people’s hopes up.

No reason to assume that it’s not still in development. If Tron: Legacy is a success I can see a studio grabbing hold of ReBoot to cash in.
